Step One

Getting to Boca de Tomatlán from Puerto Vallarta

Boca de Tomatlán is the charming fishing village where your sea voyage begins.

Transportation options from Puerto Vallarta:

  • Uber/Taxi: Simply enter “Boca de Tomatlán” in the app or tell the driver.

  • Own car: Secure parking nearby available (additional cost)

  • Public transportation: From downtown Puerto Vallarta, take a bus heading towards "Boca de Tomatlán" and get off at the last stop.

Tip! Arrive before 4:00 PM to take advantage of the daylight.

How do I know you've arrived?
When you see a picturesque little town where the river meets the sea and small boats float along the shore, you have arrived at Boca de Tomatlán.

Sea Crossing (15-20 minutes)

Hours and Availability

Boats depart more frequently from Boca de Tomatlán between 10:00 AM and before 5:00 PM.

 

Requirements for boarding

If your reservation includes a water taxi, to board the boat, please ensure you have:

  • Confirmed reservation at Amaca Beach

  • WhatsApp confirmation (72 hours in advance)
 
Our official boats:

When you arrive at the pier in Boca de Tomatlán, look for one of the following "pangas" (boats):

  • La Cachorrita

  • Gitana

  • Tormenta

  • Shadow

You can board any of them. Just give your full name to the captain and mention that you are a guest of AMACA BEACH.

Step Three

Arrival at Quimixto and final stretch

When you disembark at the Quimixto pier, you will find yourself at a rustic pier surrounded by nature. Choose your final adventure:

Option A: Scenic Walk (20 minutes)

  • Trail along the sea and the jungle.

  •  Spectacular panoramic views

  •  Perfect for photos and connecting with nature

  •  Great for backpackers and light luggage

Option B: ATV Adventure (5 minutes)

  • Fast and exciting ride

  • $450 MXN per trip (paid directly to the provider)

  • Perfect for bulky luggage
